Birthday!

I don't know if you can guess from that picture, but tomorrow it's my birthday! This isn't going to be an awfully descriptive post; it really isn't going to be specific at all. But I just wanted to say that tomorrow at 11:13 AM, I will be 12! :)

Waterpark :D

I haven't mentioned this because sadly I have not posted in a while, but I will be in Cape Cod for two weeks. We have been coming up with many new activities due to the new "need for outings" my brother and I now have. We are always wanting to get out of the house and the touristy brochures and magazines are constantly being stuffed in my pockets.

Earlier today, we visited a watermark a good hour away from our house on the Cape. We got in at 10:15, got tickets, and then went in for some fun!

The first thing we did was get some tubes and go around the park in our tube as the water's waves pushed us gently forward. The force got more and more enhanced as the "ride" went on. We actually ended up going on that three times in our visit!

Then, we went on the mini-slides on the water playground. I don't really mind that I felt like a three year old. It was fun! The water was about six inches deep and we were constantly being splashed.

We decided to go on a more adventurous choice afterwards, so we headed to a black, closed slide and waited in a not-too-long line. I closed my eyes the whole time, but it was great!

Then, we went in this little kids' area with small slides and things. There wasn't much to do but we played Hide-and-Seek (yeah, what the heck, I know)...

We went on a different slide next. It was open and a sea blue color. We received tubes and were instructed to use them on the ride. I think that slide was my favorite part of the waterpark experience! I spun around and the slide seemed nice and long as well.

Lastly for the water activities, we checked out the wave pool. My brother had really been wanting to go in because for his camp that is where they went and the waterpark had a wave pool which he loved. It was just a normal pool but all of a sudden, jets going at a very fast pace would begin operating and we were pushed around. It was awesome, but awkward too because I kept crashing into random people.

Before we left, I got a henna tattoo. I always wanted to get a henna tattoo so when there was a little henna station I ran right over. I got a tattoo that said "believe" in the Chinese symbols and really like it and think it's a great reminder telling me to believe in myself. I didn't go in the water after because I had to wait 15-20 minutes for the tattoo to dry and we were going to leave anyways. So we got changed and headed out, but overall, I think we had a great time at the waterpark!

We got home at around 1:30 and then it started raining, so, perfect timing! Haha :P

Big Storm!

Sorry I haven't been writing in a while, but my only excuse is laziness. I also forgot about my blog some, I guess, but the major reason of why I've been gone is my extreme summer laziness lately. I go to acting/dance/singing camp from 9-12:15, and afterwards, I kind of just sit around but I always am busy doing something else.

ANYWAYS. I think we should actually get to the point of this post now. It is expected that a big storm will occur pretty soon. I'm becoming a storm watcher so I'm putting a video up on YouTube maybe... haha.

First my cat started spazzing out running around the house and putting her ears back. Pets are a great way to kind of get a prediction of the upcoming weather. I think that cats and dogs should be the weathermen, honestly.

It started storming with gray skies and thunder (but no rain or anything) and then moved on to what it is now, sun and blue skies. The storm was a bit early at first so I'm expecting more to happen. But we will have to see!

Cat Got Out

Earlier this afternoon, my cat, Lily, got out of my house. She's done this many times before but this time was definitely the most extreme escape she has ever made.

My friend Kate was leaving my house. When she opened up the door, Lily raced outside into a bush. We chased her around in the front yard until she advanced to the back, going into my neighbor's yard and grasses.

We really had to pick my brother up from camp, so we left hoping she wouldn't run away. Scared and hopeful, we raced to my brother's camp, grabbed him, and went home.

It took a few minutes to find Lily, but about 30 minutes later we finally were able to grab her! Lily spent about 2-3 hours outside. I think this experience, though, was somewhat good, because I was once again reminded how much I love my kitty! :)

DISCLAIMER- I am not a cat hoarder. I only have one cat and am not completely obsessed. But I have to say I consider her a very important member of my family!

Seussical

I am not sure if I've mentioned this in my previous posts, but on Monday, I started an acting, singing, and dancing camp. We are performing the show Seussical. I can't tell you the name of the camp, because that would show where I live, but I started it last year, when we put on The Music Man and loved it.

I just was casted as a Who and am both happy and sad. I'm a bit sad because it's a tiny, line-less role and they gave me a callback which means I did a nice job, but I was kind of "fooled" because I ended up getting a not-so-big part. I'm happy, though, because I really like the camp and still have many singing and dancing parts.

Keep Calm and EAT CHEESECAKE!

This is seriously my life saying. It's so true and I can't stress how true it is! Yep, I know this is already included on my Gallery page, but I felt you guys should really understand how much I love cheesecake. It is a memory of my birthday (because I have it every birthday for dessert after dinner time) and tastes so rich and sweet. Definitely my favorite dessert! (:

Candles!

I don't know why, but lately I've been having an obsession with candles! I just got an order from Candles by Victoria (candlesbyvictoria.com) and have decided that they are my favorites by far! They are hand poured and handmade candles that smell amazing and make the room smell great.

I own Yankee Candles (which I prefer for the holidays) and Bath & Body Works Candles. I had never even heard of CBV until I noticed many videos up on YouTube about it. I checked out the website and decided to order a couple candles. The thing that annoys me is the shipping price. Even though I live in the US, shipping was $9! I definitely think that the candles were well-worth it. A Strawberry Lemonade scent shot that I hadn't even ordered (scent shots will be explained in a moment) came in with it, and I decided I enjoyed the scent. I think I'm going to get that in my next order, along with a Bakery scent and Lemon Vanilla (that's my favorite scent from Bath & Body Works).

Scent shots are small samples of candles without wicks. You can get a tart melter which makes it so the scent shot makes the room smell like it! Scent shots are only $2, but you can also buy a package of them for a better deal. They are a great way to test a scent out for a low price!

I only bought three candles from CBV. I was pleased with all of them and they smelled better than I expected. I first bought the 16 oz. country jar candle in Summer Sorbet. It smells like melon with a hint of cucumbers and pineapple to me. This scent is kind of iffy at first, but once burned, it smells great!

I also bought a Mini Jelly Jar candle in the scent Apple Cinnamon Butter. This scent smells a bit strong, but really goes across the room and makes it smell like perfect autumn! I bought this during the summertime, but still think it rocks for any season.

Lastly, I got a CBV Surprise Candle which is a mix of different scents. As the candle gets burned more, different scents are revealed. I thought it was so cool for just a small price!

I definitely hope you guys check out Candles by Victoria. The candles are great and well worth the money (they are inexpensive normally, the shipping just adds to the cost). I'd definitely recommend buying from them!

New Style!

Hi Everyone,

I don't know if you've noticed, but my blog has began to have a different style. Not only its colorful design that truly describes my personality, but also I have tried to become more descriptive with my posts. Yes, I was always capable of description, but I'm 11. I'm lazy. I didn't really want to be all descriptive because I HATE talking like a nerd (not that I care what people think about me, honestly).

I decided to be a little nerdy though and speak more descriptively in my posts. When I was around 8 and had my blog before, it was really awkwardly descriptive. Yeah, you saw my first post that isn't deleted. It sounded creepy...

Hope you don't care about the posts that take more work. If I sound awkwardly descriptive, please notify me in the Comments section below (but not in a mean way!).

Book Recommendations

If you enjoy reading like I do, here is a list of a few books that I enjoyed that I'd recommend checking out! These books are great for anyone from Middle School to the Young Adult reading level. If not, you will be notified.

Divergent (If you like this book, they also have a sequel called Insurgent!)
Get Psyched by Janet McLaughlin (This book is $4.99 on eBooks and is AWESOME! Definitely check it out!)
The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins (Yep, everyone knows about these...)
Hope Was Here by Joan Bauer
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Maximum Ride Series by James Patterson

These are some awesome reads that I definitely recommend checking out.

Thanks!

New Laptop!

About a week ago, I received a Macbook Pro 13-inch laptop as an early birthday present. I used to own  the older version of the MacBook Air (not the new miniature version) but it was getting old and the screen was gradually losing color and quality. So my dad gave my old computer to my younger brother Alec and I got the Pro.

I noticed many changes and differences in the two laptops. One may think to have the same old computer and download the new software, but it ends up using more money than just buying a completely new device and having all the software already existing. Some applications cost a lot of money and end up not being complete and fun to use because the computer does not have enough space for the application to be good quality.

The MacBook Pro has a very sleek design, and I actually think it's the same weight as my old computer, if not lighter. The MacBook Air's goal is to be simple for travel and portable, but the Pro still ends up much easier to carry. I got the Air when it first came out, and it was around $1500 to $1800. The MacBook Pro retails for $1200 and can be bought for even less in New condition on places like eBay and Amazon.

On the MacBook Air, it was too thin for many things. For example, on my old computer, I could not insert disks because the laptop was not thick enough. Now the MacBook Pro offers many more options since it's a bit thicker without being too extremely fat.

The computer picks up wiFi pretty nicely. In Cape Cod, the wiFi was always terrible and wouldn't work in any areas of the house but the Pro gives nice wiFi from the whole house. The computer is also pretty fast and allows easy get-around for the owner.

The MacBook Pro offers many more applications like Mission Control and Launchpad which allow the owner to get a look at the computer. Mission Control lets the viewer notice all that is open and Launchpad lets the viewer look at the computer like it's an iPad or iPhone and notice the applications and really see everything on the entire screen. iPhoto also recognizes faces which is cool!

If you want a more in-depth review on this computer, definitely request it and I might be able to put it up on my YouTube channel, rcwashecka!

Thanks for reading :)

Weather

I wanted to just make this quick post to talk about the weather! I'm currently in Cape Cod and am leaving tomorrow and lately have noticed the weather's fast changes.

For the past few days, it's been cloudy in the morning. I then go to the bathroom or wash my face and when I come back out the sun is shining like it's the middle of the day! The clouds start to come in at around 3 or 4 (late afternoon) and continue until about 7 or 8 when it begins to storm and rain. The rain comes from a light drizzle, stops, and comes back again. It repeats this process until it's a heavy down pour and it feels like a hail storm!

Just thought I'd share this fast-paced weather changing... it seemed sort of interesting to me that the weather could change so rapidly!

My Random Day (6/22/12)

I woke up at exactly 8:11 AM and headed into the bathroom to take a quick shower. It was my first full summer day in Cape Cod for the year. I got dressed and took a walk down to the beach with my brother and came back a little while later with a surprise of yummy bagels from our favorite bagel place in the world!

We wolfed down our breakfast and then went down to the beach for a little while. My brother and I caught crabs with a few people we met while our parents read the newspaper and relaxed. We went home about an hour later and my mom and I went straight to TJ Maxx and Wal Mart.

I bought an O'Neill bikini from TJ Maxx for $20 (normally, that swimsuit was $70!) as well as some peace signed Soffe shorts for $5 so that I'd have something to sleep in since I had forgotten my PJs at home. At Wal Mart, we just bought a nice face wash and moisturizer. We also got my brother some cheap gray pajama shorts. And a quick thing here: No, I normally don't buy my clothes from Wal Mart and TJ Maxx.

Then we got home and my cousin and grandparents were there. We hung out at home for a little while and then went down to the beach. There, we swam, used our boogie boards, caught crabs, and made sand castles with another kid.

I left after my cousin, brother, and new friend went all psycho on me and started throwing sand at my beautiful (just kidding, I'm not THAT conceited) face.

I took a quick shower and then went out with my grandma to check out what was going on at the Arts (not just painting art, but music, writing, and acting talent sharing too) Festival. There were some pretty cool things that people could do!

We got home and just hung out eating Skinny Pop (awesome popcorn, yeah). My brother and cousin ran 40 laps around the house just to get their electronic use! They now have 4 hours of electronics and I'm not quite sure my mom will let them do that much. I guess she wasn't expecting them to do that much for the iPad, iTouch, computer, and TV!

For dinner we're having a various BBQ, but not with burgers and hot dogs. Then we'll eat brownies and ice cream for dessert!

Thanks for reading :O)

Summer is Here!

I am so excited- summer is finally here! I love the summer time because it always gives me freedom and happiness. Summer is definitely my favorite season. I love warm weather, shopping, going swimming, and hanging out with friends.

I have never looked forward to summer so much in my life. I'm about to go to J. Crew and go shopping (one of the best elements of summer!). Middle school was so much fun but the work and all my activities were too hard to juggle at times and I just needed a break. Slowly, things are closing down and I gradually am receiving more and more happiness.

I will also be posting a ton more, yay! :)

I hope you guys have a great summer. I already posted this on my Tumblr but I just wanted to post this as well because I love SUMMER!

Tumblr

I'm just saying... I don't understand why a bunch of people in my grade have Tumblrs and post pictures of random sayings... I would rather just post words. Instagram is for posting pictures, not blogs. I guess if a person is artistic they can post pictures they made and that's perfectly fine, but taking random pictures off the Internet and filling up a whole blog seems boring to me. A small picture section is great, since I like visual ideas, but a "world" with only pictures seems empty and alone. If you want me to follow you on Tumblr, I'm not going to if you just post pictures. I look for more meaning in a blog... :P

Sorry!

Sorry guys... I haven't posted in a while! My excuse: I've been studying for finals, busy with homework, and I went to Buffalo over the weekend from a synchro (synchronized swimming) meet. I have been doing SO MUCH lately. When I'm finished with my synchro Water Show on Sunday then I won't have 3 2 1/2 hour practices per week and I finish finals on Monday so I will be soooo much less busy. I go to Cape Cod in the summer time a lot though because my family has a house there and the wiFi there kinda stinks. Anyways, my school ends on June 14th (my cousins ended 2 weeks ago!) and so after the second to last week (this week, yay!) I will not have to worry about everything.

I will try to make a post about my Summers and what I do if you guys want. Even in the summer, though, I'm still pretty busy. I go to the beach all day, hang out with friends and family, and go to acting camp, and spend every minute I can under the sun. I just want to encourage you guys to soak up every moment of summer you have so that you're ready for School when you re-start.

I can't wait until school is over and summer is finally here. I'll definitely be sharing my favorite things to do during the summer months!

Friv

First, I'm just going to start this post with a disclaimer: I am not sponsored by Friv in any way, but I just wanted to talk about this cool gaming site.

Friv is a free gaming website for pretty much all ages to enjoy. There are so many different games to choose from and the games are constantly being updated. Something I like about Friv is that it's something that people can like whether they are toddlers, teenagers, or grandparents, boys or girls. I think it's nice because my cousins and I always like watching each other play the games and we can even work together on some of them. Friv gives people a chance to kind of try out new things. There are little "game square choices" so you don't know what you're picking, really. That can have its bad sides, but is mostly a good thing because I have started this obsession with car games because I saw a car game but I thought it was an adventure game with little pets. It's awesome because Friv lead me to try out different games, and I actually ended up loving them!

So I'd definitely recommend you guys check out Friv.com, because it is just so much fun to play games. Make sure you don't spend too long on there, though, and I'm warning you, it's extremely addicting! (:

I also like Bored.com and Addicting Games, and the Apple Devices have great and fun games like Temple Run, Doodle Snake, and Angry Birds.

In Cape Cod!

Sorry I haven't made a post in a week. My excuse: I've been busy. I have been studying for finals, preparing for my Regionals Synchro meet next week, and was with my cousins all day yesterday.

I'm in Cape Cod for Memorial Day weekend, and I've been having a great time so far. We came up here Friday night, leaving right after school, and arrived at around 9. The next day (Saturday) my three cousins, Alton (9), Ian (7), and Logan (2), came up from their house an hour away and we celebrated Logan's 3rd birthday on the 31st. We went to the beach, played games, and just had a great time. Alton's friend Rashon came too and he was very well-behaved.

I went to the candy store and bought a half pound of delicious fudge (half Marshmallow, half Peanut Butter). We had SO MUCH dessert and snacks in the house, it's sort of unbelievable actually... I will make a list:

1) Mini Brownie Cakes
2) 1/2 LB Fudge
3) Potato Chip Huge Bag
4) Big Tub of Ice Cream
5) 2 Graham Cracker Boxes (Filled)
6) Peanut Butter Cookies Dipped in Chocolate

Yeah. My aunt is like 100% against chocolate and any types of dessert so of course she refused to give her children any kind of desserts. But whatever, I love her anyways! So now we're kinda stuck with all these desserts in the house, but... we can live with it.

And I don't even think I mentioned my grandparents. This used to be their house which they rented out to people, but now they stopped renting it out to people so now my grandparents, my family, and everyone on my mom's side of the family uses it. It's really fun and right by the beach and Main Street, so we constantly are having a great time there.

Today, we're going to do some shopping in town and maybe go bowling. We definitely are going to go back to the beach since the weather is supposed to be pretty nice. Then we will leave tomorrow morning (maybe back in time for the parade at our house) and go shopping at the mall and hang out with friends because we want to catch all the Memorial Day weekend sales! :)

Rainy Weather

Today, I just decided to have fun. It was pouring so hard, and I love the rain. Ever since third grade, I have enjoyed the wet weather. So I decided to go on a little adventure: I got into my swimsuit and raced outside.

My cousin joined me after she got off the bus. It was awesome, because the rain would constantly go on and off. We'd be like, "Whew, now it's warmer again," and then it would surprise us and start pouring!

Then my cousin Sarah pushed me into the mud and my stomach turned brown. So we rolled in wet mud for 5 minutes until our skin was the color of chocolate. After that, we had huge blue buckets on the driveway which were from the day before. They had all overflowed from the pouring rain. We sat in them and had a contest for who could stay in the freezing cold water the longest. I won, of course, because my cousin can't stand the cold!

So basically I wrote this post because it's fun to enjoy weather, whatever it is. I don't know why everyone hates the rain; I find it so much fun to slosh around in the mud and get dirty and soaking wet. So enjoy spring's rain, and savor it, because pretty soon you'll be wishing for warm rain. Bye guys!

Typical Mornings

Typical mornings on school days used to be impossible. I had to set my alarm for 5:30 because it took me like 30 minutes just to get out of bed, 15 minutes to find out what to wear, and 5 minutes to dress and put on Bath & Body Works (that's a very important part of my daily morning routine). Then I'd eat breakfast, wash my face, brush my teeth, and drive in to school late when I was hoping for some extra help. Well, depressingly enough, that's my typical morning routine. Luckily, it WAS my old morning routine before school. This year, though, I think I really stepped it up. Being so busy got me used to conserving my time and not just sitting in bed. Now, I have gotten into the great habit of just getting out of bed. I use a great facial routine (Bath & Body Works True Blue Peppermint with Clean & Clear Morning Burst) and it really wakes me up when I start feeling drowsy. Also, I eat a healthier breakfast (a Greek Yogurt parfait with honey and berries) and it truly helps me to stay awake during the day time. So if you guys are looking for a good morning routine, get into these healthy habits, and I promise you'll be happy with the results. I have noticed my grades going up this semester when I started really getting into this routine. If you guys liked (or didn't like) these in-depth descriptions, please let me know in the Comments section below. Thanks!

Favorite Snacks

This is just a list of my favorite junk foods:

Smart Puffs/Pirates Booty
Popcorn (I love the Boy Scouts Butter kind)
Late July Mini White Cheddar Crackers
Goldfish (I love the hint of butter in the Original, and the blast of flavor in the Pizza)
Pop Chips
Body Armor Energy Drinks

Then I just love things a bit more healthy:

Pita Pizzas
Pita Chips (Stacy's Simply Naked rocks!)
Veggie Booty
Veggie Chips

And overall, I just love to eat. Luckily, I get a lot of exercise so I don't make myself too fat or anything and keep myself busy, but when I get the chance, I just enjoy sitting on the couch watching TV (while stretching, of course), and eating potato chips. Oh, I'm such a multi-tasker...

The Long, Winding Road

The long, winding road. I WALKED ON IT MYSELF! :P

Goals

Hey guys, look at that: the new and improved seal stretch. Getting a seal stretch right (touching my toes to my head) has been my goal ever since 2006 when I did gymnastics as a six-year-old. 6 years later, I have reached my goal.

Many other goals have been reached. In 2011, I had always wanted to get a 103 in Math. That goal was reached, now twice!

Then, there are some goals I'm still working on, like getting straight A's in Middle School, and convincing my parents for a pool (if that's even a goal).

But overall, I just want to make it clear that I will continue to work at reaching my goals, no matter how long it may take.

Helping Hands

Hey guys, so I don't know if any of you know about Helping Hands, and what it is. Well, Helping Hands is a little organization my best friend Kate and I started together one day in third grade. Basically what it is is an organization which writes a magazine and has bake sales and other parties and events to help raise money to help soldiers, poor people, and animals. We've donated to organizations such as Unicef, Rainforest2Reef, and World Wildlife Fund! Here are a few pictures of us working on the magazine!

Bottom: My Brother Alec works on the magazine's ideas on the iPad.
Top: I work on writing the magazine on my laptop!

Check out our site: helpinghandsonline.wordpress.com
Thanks!

REAL PICTURES

Here are the captions in order from top to bottom:

This is me on November 22nd. I was in a prison and torture camp, aka a stupid school trip place. It's depressing. Life was depressing at this terrible place :(
This is me on October 30th before a Halloween party. I was a peacock... :)
Meow... sorry the lighting is bad in that picture. That's me the day I got my cat last May. (May 14th, to be exact hehe)

Hi

Okay.
Yeah. I know.
You must've missed me.
A lot.
I know, I know...
It's okay.

I looked back at old posts. THEY WERE TERRIBLE. I was acting like... a 15-year-old. Well, was trying to act like one. You can tell it didn't work.

"My mother insisted that I must get my picture taken in this wondrous costume for Halloween." I mean, really? What is this, the 1950s?

Yeah, I know. I haven't really matured. In fact, I've become the exact opposite. It's the sad, sad, VERY SAD truth. :P

Well this is me. NOW.

No just kidding, that moose picture is not me. THIS picture is me.

Seriously... I promise! Hehe

Okay I don't even know if those pictures showed up. Whoops...
